Bean Sídhe | Irish Mythology

In Irish mythology, a bean sídhe or banshee is a fairy spirit in Irish mythology. Banshees were said to be found in the woods and would wail loudly when someone was near death. In many stories, banshees are able to predict the death of an individual.

Banshee is an English version of the original Irish name, bean sídhe. In Scottish mythology, the banshee appears as the bean shìth.
